About the Author

Dr. Ran Bhamra is presently a Senior Lecturer in the Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Loughborough University, UK. He is Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (MIET). He has a PhD in Resource-based Strategy from Cranfield University. Dr Bhamra joined the School in 2008, prior to which much of his career was spent in a variety of industrial organisations and consultancy that includes process improvement, project and operations management. Key research interests include organisational resilience, competence and resource-based theory, sustainable manufacturing strategy, and also product-service operations. Dr Bhamra is a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the University of Hong Kong.

About the Author

Edward Craig is Knightsbridge Professor of Philosophy at Cambridge University, where he is also a Fellow of Churchill College. He has held visiting appointments at the Universities of Hamburg and Heidelberg, and the University of Melbourne. In the treatment and management of headache patients, two important issues are crucial: 1) More than 50% of individuals experiencing headache have only been treated symptomatically, with no appropriate diagnosis established. And 2) History and neurologic examination are essential to establishing a diagnosis and thus, selecting appropriate therapy. Many of these individuals have never consulted a physician for their headache problem. Another issue is that extensive testing and scanning may have been undertaken but without clearly identifying the diagnosis. Finally, many patients with headache have not received a continuity of care, which is the linchpin on successful management of headache and prevention of chronification of this problem. The lack of correct diagnoses, symptomatic treatment in a majority of patients, and the absence of continuity of care have made headache management a global health problem.

Headache and Migraine Biology and Management 1e will be a practical text, based on clinical experience of the contributing authors who are considered leaders in headache medicine. About the Author
A pioneer in the headache field, Dr. Seymour Diamond has spent almost 50 years developing better diagnostic tools and treatment options for headache conditions and has played integral roles in transforming the entire field's approach. A recipient of the American Headache Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award, he has accomplished a laundry list of “firsts” in the field of headache medicine, his greatest contribution being his unwavering commitment to creating the first true continuum of care for patients.
Dr. Diamond is Executive Chairman and Founder of the National Headache Foundation and Director Emeritus and Founder of the world-famous Diamond Headache Clinic. He previously served as Adjunct Professor of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology at Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, North Chicago, Illinois, as well as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. Also, he served as a Lecturer, Department of Family Medicine (Neurology) at Loyola University Chicago/Stritch School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School, and was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1977 and the President's Award in 2002. He has been elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, Neurology Section, has received the National Migraine Foundation Lectureship Award, and was honored by the British Migraine Trust as the initial recipient of the Migraine Trust Lectureship. He has also served as editor or on the editorial board for 31 publications; has published more than 490 articles in professional literature; and has authored or co-authored more than 70 books.

Expected more from such a well known author but as usual most of the book is written by people who are not well known. Very weak on new therapies or new ideas. Esentially an expensive review book. I probably would not buy it again if I have the opportunity again.
