About the Author

Edward Craig is Knightsbridge Professor of Philosophy at Cambridge University, where he is also a Fellow of Churchill College. He has held visiting appointments at the Universities of Hamburg and Heidelberg, and the University of Melbourne. His publications include The Mind of God and the Works of Man (OUP, 1987), Knowledge and the State of Nature (OUP, 1990), and he is general editor of the Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy.

In the treatment and management of headache patients, two important issues are crucial: 1) More than 50% of individuals experiencing headache have only been treated symptomatically, with no appropriate diagnosis established. And 2) History and neurologic examination are essential to establishing a diagnosis and thus, selecting appropriate therapy. Many of these individuals have never consulted a physician for their headache problem. Another issue is that extensive testing and scanning may have been undertaken but without clearly identifying the diagnosis. Finally, many patients with headache have not received a continuity of care, which is the linchpin on successful management of headache and prevention of chronification of this problem. The lack of correct diagnoses, symptomatic treatment in a majority of patients, and the absence of continuity of care have made headache management a global health problem.

Headache and Migraine Biology and Management 1e will be a practical text, based on clinical experience of the contributing authors who are considered leaders in headache medicine. About the Author
A pioneer in the headache field, Dr. Seymour Diamond has spent almost 50 years developing better diagnostic tools and treatment options for headache conditions and has played integral roles in transforming the entire field's approach. A recipient of the American Headache Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award, he has accomplished a laundry list of “firsts” in the field of headache medicine, his greatest contribution being his unwavering commitment to creating the first true continuum of care for patients.
Dr. Diamond is Executive Chairman and Founder of the National Headache Foundation and Director Emeritus and Founder of the world-famous Diamond Headache Clinic. He previously served as Adjunct Professor of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology at Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, North Chicago, Illinois, as well as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. Also, he served as a Lecturer, Department of Family Medicine (Neurology) at Loyola University Chicago/Stritch School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School, and was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1977 and the President's Award in 2002. He has been elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, Neurology Section, has received the National Migraine Foundation Lectureship Award, and was honored by the British Migraine Trust as the initial recipient of the Migraine Trust Lectureship. He has also served as editor or on the editorial board for 31 publications; has published more than 490 articles in professional literature; and has authored or co-authored more than 70 books.

Expected more from such a well known author but as usual most of the book is written by people who are not well known. Very weak on new therapies or new ideas. Esentially an expensive review book. I probably would not buy it again if I have the opportunity again.

Dark Room for the 21st Century

This book is an excellent and concise manual on how to use the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying to be able to gain perception of the clear light.

The reason for this book is NOT to give instant enlightenment. The purpose of this book is to practice the art of correct and conscious dying by using your mind to properly navigate the bardo.

Traditionally in Tibet this book would be used in 2 instances. The first is during a retreat known as dark room where the monks and nuns literally go into complete light isolation for a period of 49 days. During the initial 2 weeks the brain chemistry is radically altered to produce endogenous entheogens believed to be DMT. This way the bardo thodol can be experienced in holographic 3D mind projections or hallucinations. The only other time the bardo thodol is used is to read it to a person whom is actually dying to utilize the time of death as an opportunity to reach enlightenment through the perception of the clear light.

Psychedelics and dark room retreats are used in the same way a pilot would use a jet simulator. You can practice dying over and over again until you are able to quickly and easily perceive the clear light upon death (ego loss) and attain nirvana. In this instance ones mindstream will instantly be transferred into the realm of pure light or the 4th dimension.

This book helps one to experience the state of samadhi or rigpa which is the state of non-dual consciousness. The experience of rigpa is necessary to the practice of the inner tantras like dzogchen.

Even though this book mentions LSD, I suggest that we should only stick with the time tested entheogens used through out history like ayahuasca, iboga, peyote, san pedro etc....

This book is for those who want to use entheogens in a way to learn to attain liberation upon death also known as mahasamadhi or powa. Reading the passages from this book during spirit walking on the entheogen is an excellent way this book is to be used to attain liberation through listening.

This book helps us to gain confidence during a usually frightening and uncertain time in our lives. We are all going to die one day and this book teaches us how to go about doing it right and what to expect.

This estate has become a virtual treasure trove of Possessed, Spirit Inhabited, and Haunted Objects, and we have made many astounding discoveries in our explorations. But this "Grimoire", or "Book of Spells", is undeniably the most fantastic discovery of all...

We discovered in the estate, a passageway, that lead to a cleverly hidden secret room, and we soon learned that it was the "Inner Sanctum", of one of the previous occupants of the estate, the great great aunt of the old man who sold us the estate. She was known as "Lagatha Krausemueller". It was rumored that she was well versed in the practices of Witchcraft, Paganism, and even Satanism, and that she possessed amazing and extraordinary powers. It was said that she never seemed to age, and that with just a look, she could bewitch any man that she desired. They say that she mysteriously vanished many years ago, and was never seen or heard from again....

In this Inner Sanctum, we discovered a Witches Altar, and upon the altar, lay a very old and dusty book. When we able to examine it in a better setting in more detail, we discovered that it was a "Witch's Grimoire", or "Book of Spells". The cover and binding were very old and worn, and the pages brittle and torn. We had to be very careful, as the old pages were coming apart, and many were loose from the binding....

The book itself measured approximately eight inches (20cm) tall, by four and three quarter inches (12cm) in width. There were a total of sixteen pages of hand written inscription inside...with strange writing, and symbols that we did not understand. Some of the alphabet was in English, but much of it appeared to be something similar to Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics, and some in early Greek and Roman. And some appeared to be in a language even more ancient....

The handwritten lettering and symbols were very old and faded, and we were able to translate only a portion of it, but there appear to be "Spells of Long Life and Immortality"..'Love and Sex Spells".."Spells of Power and Wealth".."Spells of Magick Potions..."Inccubus and Succubus Summoning Spells"..and even "Spells For Communicating With Satan and Making Deals With The Devil". There is more...but it is beyond our abilities to translate it....

We have never seen any of these spells transcribed in any other book or manuscript, and I believe they are either unknown spells, or perhaps they are ancient knowledge, that was lost, long, long ago. If we were to offer this very valuable original Book of Spells on our website, where we often sell many of our other discovered objects from the estate, it would most likely be quickly bought up by a private wealthy collector, and never seen or heard of again...

I thought the spells would have been translated, but nothing is translated. They simply scanned in her works for us to read. It is interesting for a historical text for sure, but I was disappointed that nothing had been translated.

I can't say enough about how great this book is. As always I find that I must savor this book. This is not one that you would get, read in a night and move on with your life. If you do that you're missing the opportunity to grow and learn. Pema Chodron is a wise and compassionate teacher. This book teaches to be present with the energy behind the story, behind the drama. It offers an opportunity to become a peaceful happy person capable of making the world around us a better place.

This book was transformative for me. Mired in pain and grief after my wife left, I was unable to make any sense of my life. And then I read this book, and it opened up a path for me that helped me understand what I was experiencing and how it could serve as the way toward enlightenment.

I am halfway through this book and it is nothing short of life altering. It is definitely a must read. Especially if you are a survivor. Sometimes we feel the need to numb out what we are feeling in healthy and unhealthy ways, this talks about sitting with those feelings and treating ourselves with compassion.

About the Author
William T. Bianco is professor of political science at Indiana University, Bloomington. His research focuses on congressional institutions, representation, and international cooperation in crewed spaceflight. He received his undergraduate degree from SUNY Stony Brook and his MA and Ph.D. from the University of Rochester. He is the author of Trust: Representatives and Constituents and numerous journal articles. His research and graduate students have received funding from the National Science Foundation and the National Council for Eurasian and Eastern European Research. He has served as a consultant to various candidates, political parties, and government agencies. He was also a Fulbright Senior Scholar in Moscow, Russia, during 2011–12.

David T. Canon is professor and department chair of political science at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His teaching and research interests focus on American political institutions, especially Congress, and racial representation. He is the author of Actors, Athletes, and Astronauts: Political Amateurs in the United States Congress; Race, Redistricting, and Representation: The Unintended Consequences of Black Majority Districts (winner of the Richard F. Fenno Prize); The Dysfunctional Congress? (with Kenneth Mayer); and various articles and book chapters. He served a term as the Congress editor of Legislative Studies Quarterly. He is an AP consultant and has taught in the University of Wisconsin AP Summer Institute for U.S. Government and Politics since 1997. Professor Canon is the recipient of a University of Wisconsin Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award.

Our teacher explained this: the fourth edition has THREE VERSIONS.
The full version includes chapters 16,17 and has red mixed with the title lettering pictured.
The version shown for Kindle is 'essentials', in other words they chop out stuff.

There is NO KINDLE VERSION that includes the needed chapters,
I'll have to borrow the school library version for the last two chapters.

Oh well. I'll have to give it a bad rating despite being not so bad a book due to this stupid stuff they did.
I like kindle versions, you can search for text to answer course questions.
And the very newest version lets you highlight in COLOR!

The best so far!

This is the best book I have read on the subject so far. One of the authors is a clinical psychiatrist that now specializes in spiritual psychiatry. There are examples of twin soul relationships, and accounts of people who have experienced this type of relationship. Over all the point of the book is that we are capable of more and greater heights spiritually and physically then we can imagine. Fantastic!

incorrect description of the author's work

As I understand there is a missing chapter in this book which the publishers had the authors leave out of their original work.
Would advise friends of mine not to purchase because Amazon does not reveal this fact. I have purchased the book twice from Amazon and both books are missing that chapter.

I really appreciated this book. I have met my twin however we cannot have the romantic relationship in this lifetime however this book was very informative. I really appreciate the authors work. It coincides with everything my guides have told me in regards to my twin and the relationship we have and why we aren't to be together at this time.
